SETH THOMAS DELAWARE STYLE BANJO
SETH THOMAS DELAWARE STYLE BANJO CLOCK 10 ½" wide x 27" long White painted dial, with all minute hash marks on two continuous circles, one being at the dials edge. All chapters represented with stylized arabic numerals Blued steel cathedral type hands. Swing away brass bezel, with mahogany case with center and bottom glass panels, decorated with transfer designs featuring eagles and two three masted gunboats engaged in combat. Decorative brass elements flank the top inspection door. Topped with a gold gilt spread winged eagle. Heavy leaded weighted pendulum bob. Brass key included.
Provenance: old private collection famous T.G. Hawkes & Co. family, Corning, N.Y., by descent in the family to the current owner; owned by William Hawkes in 1924, a grandfather of the current owner.

TWO BANJO CLOCKSLot of two American
TWO BANJO CLOCKSLot of two American made banjo clocks manufactured by Sessions and Seth Thomas. Includes a Sessions clock painted with East Asian motifs and a Seth Thomas clock decorated with the portrait of George Washington and his estate at Mount Vernon. The Seth Thomas piece measures 9" W x 4" D x 26 5/8" H (with attached mounting hardware). This clock has a screw missing from the top of the left hand metal accent piece and has evidence of repair on the clips securing the crystal. The finish has also been partially scratched off on various parts of the clock, especially on the edges, and clock's face and rim are subject to discoloration as well as wear to the finish. The finial has been lost. The pendulum and key are included. The Sessions clock's lower-most back panel is separating on the right side as well as the painted front metal panel. This metal panel is also subject to some rust and scratching to the paint. There is flaking to the dragon painted on the neck of the clock. The metal portions of the piece have moderate discoloration and/or corrosion. The bottom point is broken off cleanly. The key in included. The working condition of the clocks is unknown.
