VERY GOOD OLD SHEFFIELD PLATE TEA TRAY, 19TH C.A very good 19th century 'Old Sheffield Plate' tea tray of oval form with an applied foliate and scrolled border and open handles, the surface similarly engraved and centred by a sterling 'let-in' plaque engraved with a heraldic crest and motto. Impressed maker's marks for Mathew Boulton. English, circa 1830. Dimensions, 31.5" wide (across the handles) x 20" deep. Note: Matthew Boulton (1728-1809) is considered to be one of the most important and influential industrialists and silversmiths of the 19th century, and although he died in 1809, the factory continued to produce items until approximately 1840.

SHEFFIELD STERLING SILVER TEAPOT AND CUP, 1887 English Sheffield sterling silver teapot and cup, 1887, made by Harrison Brothers & Howson (founded 1773), the diminutive teapot having an urn form, bone finial and scrolling bone handle, the body chased with an abstract wave pattern, together with a matching cup, both with appropriate marks. Approx. h. 5.25", w. 8", d. 5"; weight inclusive of all material, 285 grams. Cup h. 2", dia. 3.5"; weighing 79 grams. Total approx. weight 11.70 ozt.
