SHELTER ISLAND SIGN "OYSTERS IN SEASON"Cool sign with colorful embossed lettering "Oysters R in Season, Shelter Island Oyster Co." Shelter Island is at the northern end of Long Island, and the Shelter Island Oyster Co. collected. processed, and sold local oysters from the mid-1930s until the 1950s. This sign looks very clean and modern for being from that period, and may be a more modern "revival" piece. The cardboard sign measures 11" x 7" and is in excellent condition.
