CONDITION
The vase is in good condition. Very fine crazing visible to exterior and interior of the body. Inspection under UV light shows no sign of restoration.

Profusely decorated with images of Immortals and highlighted in gilt throughout Shimazu family crest on the base. Marked underneath with: Dai Nippon (Great Japan); four in the centre - Satsuma Jitsu Sei; three on the right - Choshuzan i.e. the potter and three on the left Kagetsu Ga - painter. The large square character reads either Maru or Tsubaru - a studio mark. Measures apprx. 7-1/4"T x 3-1/2"D at the widest point.
