PHIL SAWYER, SAILBOATS IN A SHIPYARD, OIL ON BOARDOil on board by Phillip Ayer Sawyer (American, 20th) showing ships being built or repaired at a shipyard. Signed at the lower right corner. Board measures 14" x 12" Framed size is 24" x 29". Excellent condition. Sawyer was a founder and director of the Detroit Society of Independent Artists. He moved to Dunedin, Florida in 1938. He has exhibited all over the world including at the Louvre in Paris and many American institutions.

HANDMADE WOODEN SHIP MODEL OF THE SCHOONER JOHNF. Randall, 1/96 scale. Four masted, launched 5/19/91 at Morse Yard, Bath, ME. Levi Hall, Master. It was 73 feet. By John M. Morris, Kingsport, TN. 21" high, 38" long, 6" wide. Made with hardwood. Fully rigged, flying an American flag. Case has a hardwood base, however the plexiglass cover is in poor condition and needs to be reassembled. Comes with a reproduction photograph of the ship as it looked in 1891. 22" x 26". Provenance: estate of Merrill McGowan.
