Cesare Mario Cristini (Italian, 1906-1970) three theatrical side show costume design studies tempera on paper Vivid rendering of various circus performers for stage production including the bearded lady, tight-rope walker, etc. The image with clowns signed lower right. During the course of his career, Professor Cristini designed and constructed sets for leading opera houses. In 1959, he came to Indiana University as a Fulbright scholar and visiting professor for the Opera Theater. 11 1/2" x 17"
