A VINTAGE SILVER SILENT BUTLER AND HERALDIC DISH The first a vintage .835 silver "silent butler" crumb/ash box, Dutch marks, first half of the 20th century, having bright cut floral decoration, hammered finish to base, beaded borders, and wood handle with shell thumb tab, "ZII" assay mark to underside along with unknown maker's mark. (2 x 6 3/8 x 3 3/4); the second a .900 small silver dish, Peruvian with mark of Plata Zetko, with shaped rim and featuring a double-headed eagle insignia for the Spanish Empire (4 1/8 in. diameter).

British silver silent butler, master porringer bowl, and Goldsmiths & Silversmiths seaform dish. The tripartite shell form dish on conch shell feet with twisted handle is marked "Goldsmith's and Silversmith's Company, 112 Regent St." on base. Also including a silent butler engraved with the coat of arms with paw feet and lift and a large silver plated footed bowl with pierced handles. The silent butler marked "EPC" (electroplated copper). JAMES ABBOTT MCNEILL WHISTLER (MA/UK/FRANCE, 1834-1903) "Suede Gloves" (Gants de Suede), portraying Whistler's sister-in-law, Ethel 'Bunnie' Philips, lithograph on paper, butterfly monogram in print on right, blind stamped lower left by The Studio Magazine, London, which published this plate in 1894, during Whistler's lifetime. After Whistler's death his executor had the stones erased after a limited, final edition was pulled. In gilt shallow cove frame, glazed under a two-toned green mat, OS: 20" x 16", SS: 9 3/4" x 5 3/4", toned, light stain at bottom.

For Judge Magazine, ca. 1886-1912 [dated Dec. 1888?]. Minor wear. Known as Zim, Eugene Zimmerman (1862-1935), one of the leading cartoonists of his era, worked for Puck & Judge magazines from 1883-1912, was founder & first president of The American Association of Cartoonists.
