A 1920's silver and ivory mounted shagreen inkstand retailed by Asprey London of rectangular form with pen recess and detachable silver mounted onyx well of square form CB&S London 1924 8.5in. Estimate ?300-500 There is a tiny piece of shagreen missing to the right rear bottom edge of the base and there is a small surface crack approx. half an inch in length to the rear slanted panel. The base is slightly warped. There are several small tears to the leather base. In general there are some darker patches across the base and a couple of minute nicks to the surface of the shagreen particularly along the border of the pen recess otherwise the overall condition is generally good. There is a tiny nick to the top rim and a slightlty larger chip to the base rim of the well otherwise the overall condition is good. Marks clear.
