Portuguese solid silver (833 fine) cigar ashtray with deep repoussé centre with applied crest and a hexagonal beaded border with three applied Portuguese silver 400 Reis coins from 1793 (1), and 1816 (2) curved to hold a cigar, 7" widest point, 223 grams. b. Sterling silver pin cushion in the form of the Coronation Chair at Westminster Abbey in London, made in 1296 for King Edward I to enclose the famous Stone of Scone, Birmingham 1910, 2.25" h, 14 grams (all in). c. Silver pillbox with wiggle work engraved lid, monogrammed in shield, apparently unmarked.

Two similar Edwardian novelty silver pin cushions modelled as elephants H.V. Pithey & Co Birmingham 1906 & Adie & Lovekin Birmingham 1909? 2in. Estimate ?100-150 The 1906 model has quite a crumpled cushion which is a probable replacement. There are also numerous small nicks/dings to the forehead. There is a small dent to the tail and the rear left hind quarter. Marks quite clear although beginning to rub. The other elephant has one or two very minor dings. Estimate ?100-150 The smaller of the two elephants has a lsmall dent to the right side of it's head and a small crease shaped dent and a small dind to the right side of the body. The cushion is failry worn and the faicial decoration is perhaps a little tired. Marks a little rubbed. The other elephant has a small ding to the rim by the cushion. The cushion itself is fairly clean but may well be a later replacement. Hallmarks clear although maker's mark beginning to rub.
