TWO ANTIQUE BRASS COMPASS / SUNDIAL INSTRUMENTS The first is late 19th century, probably English, the equinoctial compass features a hinged chapter ring with Roman numerals and a collapsible gnomon, there is a sectorial scale to set the latitude by raising or lowering the chapter ring (2 1/2 in.) (tarnish and oxidation); the second is a rare Baum Birmingham 1870s folding instrument with engraving to the plate and the gnomon, the central shield is marked by the maker (rust to compass indicator).
