AGRICULTURAL SILVER JULEP CUP, POSS. KYCoin silver Agricultural Premium julep cup with beaded rims and tapered sides, engraved "Premium Awarded CCA &M" to front, likely for the Clark County Agricultural and Mechanical Association of Kentucky. Marked J.E.CALDWELL & CO PHILA / PURE COIN / PLK to underside. 3 3/8" H. 3.84 oz troy. Note: This cup descended in a Lexington, Kentucky area family along with the Asa Blanchard coffin end handled ladle and spoons also in this auction. Caldwell and Krider were known to supply silver wares to Southern states.
By descent in a Southern family to present consignor.
Condition:
Overall very good condition with some scratching; small possible solder repair to interior.

A CHINESE EXPORT FOUR PIECE "BAMBOO" REPOUSSÉ SILVER TE...A CHINESE EXPORT FOUR PIECE "BAMBOO" REPOUSSÉ SILVER TEA SET, BY HUNG CHONG & CO, STAMPED, SHANGHAI, CIRCA 1900, each piece decorated with a hammered surface and leafy bamboo stalks with bamboo form handles, verso stamped with "90 / HUNGCHONG & CO," and a rectangular three character mark, comprising a hinge lidded teapot, a lidded two handled sugar bowl, a cream pitcher, and a hinge lidded hot water pitcher, tallest height: 6 1/2", width: 5 3/4", depth: 4"; total approximate weight: 45.2083 ozt. Note: Hung Chong & Co. was a world renown Chinese retailer as well as silversmith, located in Shanghai, China and active from 1830 - 1925.
