Miss Benson was invited to take charge of a department in the National Arts and Crafts School in Washington, D.C. in 1908. Examples of her work were shown at the Panama Pacific Exposition in San Francisco in 1915. This lot is accompanied by a framed photograph, contemporaneous with the vase, of Miss Benson (right) and her sister.
