Two samplers by sisters: both with four lines of alphabet and numbers over the same eight-line verse, symmetrical placement of floral and animal motifs throughout, one stitched "Anna Ward/March the 1/1834", the other "Elizabeth Sarah Ward/March the 28/1832" within cartouches, strawberry vine border on one and simple chain border on other, 16-1/4 x 12 in. (sight) and 15-1/4 x 11-3/4 in. (sight); modern gilt wood frames. Fading, several small holes on "Elizabeth" sampler.
