10TH CENTURY CHINESE POTTERY VASEA 10th Century Chinese Pottery Vase. Cizhou ware bulbous vessel is covered, almost entirely with a dark brown/black glaze and consists of a slightly flared rim, small handles at either side, rounded shoulder and body, tapering to a round base. Unmarked, but contains Sotheby's label at the underside. Some small flakes and one repair to the rim. 4 1/4" high. ESTIMATE $200-400 Purchased at Sotheby's New York auction, item 107 sale 5791, in November of 1988.
