Smith & Wesson No. 1 Second Model .22 short cal. 3.25'' barrel S/N 79688. Silver-plated frame blue barrel rosewood grips. Condition: Good condition with a very good but lightly pitted bore. It retains ca 70% original silver finish while the rest of the gun has a brown patina. It has a weak locking spring and the cylinder does not lock up properly. The barrel is a little loose and the screws are all buggered up.

Accompanying this revolver is a factory letter indicating that ten engraved Model 1 1/2 revolvers were among a large shipment to M.W. Robinson of New York in October of 1872. Retains better than 80-90% plating marks clear engraving crisp bore has minor oxidation smooth action.

SMITH AND WESSON MODEL 1, 2ND ISSUE, .22 CALIBER REVOLV...This is an example of Colt’s first entirely cartridge revolver, First sold in 1871, it is in .22 caliber, and is 7 shot. The frame is brass, and the barrel is steel. This one has the letter :B” carved into the grip on one side, with “Brown” carved into the other, Serial numbered 6665, the gun was made in 1874. Dimensions: The barrel is 2.25 inches, and the gun is 6 inches long overall. Processing and shipping within the continental U.S. $25.00 plus 1.5% replacement cost insurance.
Condition:
The gun has a crisp, tight action, and is in very good condition. The barrel is grey. The grips have been carved with the owner’s initial and name.
