Both men, individually and in partnership, were successful commercial photographers and avid hikers. Their photographs documenting the beauty of the Great Smoky Mountains in the 1910s and 1920s helped gain public support for a campaign to create the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, particularly on the Tennessee side of the park. Provenance: Blount County, TN Living Estate.
