TIFFANY & CO CIVIL WAR CAVALRY SWORDCivil War period cavalry saber made for Tiffany & Co. (marked on ricasso) by Solingen maker PDL (Peter D. Luneschloss). Measures just over 43" overall. See images. Iron guard and pommel have some surface pitting, as does the scabbard. Blade has definitely seen action, with a few nicks along the edge. Grip has remnants of original wire and leather wrap. Some reddish staining -- likely a paint of some sort -- on ricasso area (cleanable). This item can be shipped in-house.

US Civil War German Import 1840 Cavalry Sabre by Clemen & Jung Model 1840 cavalry sword made by Clemen & Jung blade stamped with C & J. The 36'' blade shows light rust & spotting last 10'' has been sharpened at some point. Leather grip shows age and some flaking; with original wire leather washer missing. Brass retains a nice patina. Scabbard good condition with some denting. Shows age with light rust. Condition: Very good.

A Civil War Style Sword and
A Civil War Style Sword and Scabbard The 42"L sword in a metal scabbard is in the form of a sword made for the Confederacy and retailed by Courtney & Tennant of Charleston SC. This sword is stamped on one side with "CSA" in a rectangle (Confederate States of America) and "Courtney & Tennant Charleston SC" within a rectangle on the opposite side of the blade. It is also stamped with "R" on the edge of the blade and on the end of the guard. The sword is slightly ill-fit in the scabbard and each portion of metal reacts to a magnate. No maker's marks were found.

CIVIL WAR ERA SWORD AND SCABBARDA
CIVIL WAR ERA SWORD AND SCABBARDA very interesting unmarked sword and scabbard with hilt and scabbard apparently of German silver, with a straight, un-engraved blade that has been service sharpened. It has a bird’s head pommel, and two branches to the guard. The grip is brown leather, with two strands of brass wire wrap. The toe of the scabbard is a separate piece of iron that has been attached to the scabbard. The blade has a single fuller, and is completely unmarked. There is a screw attachment with a piece of leather on the underside of the guard, possibly for a sword knot. Dimensions: 33 inch blade and 40 inches long overall. Processing and shipping within the continental U.S. $55.00 plus 1.5% replacement cost insurance .
Condition:
The hilt and scabbard are excellent, as is the grip. The blade is rusted, and service sharpened, but otherwise very good, with no pitting. The iron toe of the scabbard is rusted. A screw to the scabbard throat is missing. Witherell's strives to provide as much information and photographs as possible but encourages in-person inspection by bidders. WWI IMPERIAL GERMAN OFFICER'S SWORDartillery officers etched sword with scabbard, signed Clemen & Jung of Solingen on top edge of blade, circa between 1889-WW1. Lion with jeweled eyes, handle with ornate design, shagreen wrap, cannons on one side, shield on other. 41" inscabbard, 39 3/4" without, blade 34" long. Some oxidation to blade, scuffing. Scabbard with wear, denting, oxidation. Partial Christie's tag attached. Provenance: Property from a Fairfield County Estate.
