CHOICE HALLSTATT BRONZE SOCKETED SPEAR TIPAncient Central Europe, Danube River Basin, Hallstatt culture, Late Bronze Age, ca. 1400 to 1100 BCE. A well-preserved example of a cast-bronze spear tip featuring a petaloid blade head, a thick midrib that tapers to a point, and a conical socketing shaft bearing a trio of protruding ringlets. Both blade faces are incised with a pair of parallel striations that outline the overall profile, and the entire weapon has developed smooth layers of green patina in light and dark hues. Size: 6.2" L x 1.75" W (15.7 cm x 4.4 cm); 5.875" H (14.9 cm) on included custom stand.
