ANTIQUE SPODE COPELAND PORCELAIN LIDDED DISHDESCRIPTION: An Antique Spode Copeland Porcelain Lidded Dish. This is a square entree serving dish with matching lid made of ironstone (Spodes Stone China) in the Willis Pattern, No 2647, produced by Spode factory. The lid has a gilt acorn or flower bud moulded finial to its top. This piece is hand painted in bold colored enamels in the Famille Rose palette. The pattern shows stylized flowers set above rocks with a butterfly above, all in a garden setting with an intricate border, which is repeated to the inside top of the base. Both pieces have a mid brown edge, similar to that often seen on Chinese plates of the same period. Marked "Spode Copeland England".
CIRCA: Early 19th Century.

Provenance: Property from the estate of Patricia Moffat Pope, San Francisco, CA, Mrs. Pope was born May 12,1927, to parents William H. Moffat and May Martin Moffat in Reno, Nev. She grew up, a cattleman's daughter, loving the ranches and riding horses. She married George A.
