Spooner, London The Journey or Cross Roads to Conqueror's Castle , ca. 1831-1836, with twelve-panel brilliantly colored engraved paper on linen panels which fold into a hard cover case with paper label, game instructions also attached to inside front cover, 21 3/4" x 16 1/2". Provenance: Collection of Diane and Steve Olin.
Condition:
Some wear to cover, some foxing mostly toward corners, but otherwise excellent retaining vibrant colors and imagery.

He was a close friend of C.F.A. Voysey, and was considered by C.R. Ashbee to be one of the four great names of the Arts & Crafts Movement, the other three being W.R. Lethaby, Sidney Barnsley and Ernest Gimson.
