CLOUD, FRANCE", BY RALPH HALL OF SWAN BANK POTTERY WORKS, TUNSTALL, STOKE-ON-TRENT, ENGLAND, C. 1830, COBALT BLUE TRANSFER PRINT ON PORCELAIN, PATTERN PART...Historical Staffordshire transfer-ware platter "Palace of St. Cloud, France", by Ralph Hall of Swan Bank Pottery Works, Tunstall, Stoke-on-Trent, England, c. 1830, cobalt blue transfer print on porcelain, pattern part of the Picturesque Scenery Series Hall was known for, depicts well appointed figures strolling the manicured grounds of a French estate, floral and fruit border, glazed mark on reverse includes "R. Hall's" above signifying a creation date of 1822- 1841, also impressed with number "14", wear consistent with age and use including short knife marks to obverse, some scratches on reverse, expected craquelure of glaze, 17 1/2" l.

Ecclesiastical Mosaic set in Marble American early 20th century a stone and glass mosaic of the Christ Child against a cross surrounded by amber marble on a solid slate backing; 44.5 x 28.25 in. Founded in 1827 St. Paul's Episcopal Church was originally located in downtown Albany New York on Lancaster Street. ''Old St. Paul's'' and the ninety surrounding blocks were slated for demolition in the 1950s to make way for a new government project Albany's Empire State Plaza. This piece was removed from the building prior to demolition in the mid-1960s.

Note: This drawing depicts a post-Civil War mother taking shelter under a tree for the duration of the impending storm where she comforts her two children and their dog. The mother's spreading skirts suggest the stability of her mission a point belied by her and her daughter's anxious expressions which are mirrored by that of the dog.
