Chips to the base spider cracking around design (can't tell if it goes all the way through the body) blacklight reveals a repaired crack around the neck as well as some restoration to the handle.

Salt glazed stoneware jug, ovoid with double strap handles, collared neck, base of each handle with six impressed marks (possibly finger marks), Continental or American, possibly Virginia, early 19th century, 20-1/2 in. Base and sides with extensive cracks (some repaired), other base losses. Deaccessioned from MESDA and Old Salem to benefit the Acquisition Fund.
