AMERICAN CENTENNIAL ANNIVERSARY OF THE STATUE OF LIBERTY PORCELAIN OVERSIZED STEIN 16 ½" Cylindrical porcelain oversized stein with relief Lady Liberty Statue on the front holding the Torch of Freedom and double sided American bald eagle as the handle; incised "1886 - 1986" and molded in relief with "The 100th Anniversary of The Statue of Liberty" on the top border, "A Symbol of Hope, Courage and Freedom for All" on the lower border. Sculpted in relief parchment with incised poem "The New Colossus" by Emma Lazarus on the side. Hand painted and glazed in polychrome with gilt highlights. No marks found.

Well Directing.?This copy 10 x 13.5 in. with much of left margin missing tear on right. But entire statue and all text intact. John D. Thomas and Arthur S. Mole published these images just before the first World War (ca 1918-1920). The popular silver gelatin photographs had Army and Navy enlisted men arranged in shapes of various patriotic symbols and figures including the Statue of Liberty. Others published by Mole and Thomas included the Liberty Bell a patriotic shield son in service flags American eagles and more. Monies from the sale of these was donated to families of veterans. Condition: Good.
