  FRENCH INDUSTRIAL STEAM ENGINE CLOCK Attributed to Guilmet, circa 1890. Marked 'BREVETE S.G.D.G.'. A cylinder and piston with a vertical connecting rod powers the flywheel with a centrifugal governor assembly. The cylinder has two large fireboxes on either side mounted with boilers with all attendant pressure lines and tubing leading to the cylinder. There is also a barometer over the right firebox and a thermometer behind the cylinder. The automation is driven by a separate spring motor housed in the base, powering the flywheel. Featuring gilt and two tone patinated bronze throughout on a rouge marble base.
