Attractive Pair of American Black Cut Paper Silhouettes, of, respectively, General von Steuben and Elizabeth Burkey of New York, fourth quarter 19th century, the von Steuben example painted in gouache and detailed in gold, both with handwritten titles and dates below the images, presented in bird's-eye maple frames with, respectively, a silver-gilt wood fillet and a silvered wood fillet, h. 7-1/2", w. 6-1/2".
