STOOL WITH TURNED WOODEN LEGS AND A CUSHION TOP MADE WITH SHIRRED STRIPS OF WOOL FABRIC IN A DESIGN OF A RED ROSE ON A BLACK BACKGRO...Stool with turned wooden legs and a cushion top made with shirred strips of wool fabric in a design of a red rose on a black background, and bordered with concentric circles in cream and red, c. 1820-1840, the edge of the cover is finished with late-19th-century coach lace (woven tape), which is silk and has a pile design in red of geometric figures on a cream dobby-weave background, in good condition: the wool shirred fabric has some insect grazing and needs to be vacuumed, it is faded to a mellow range of colors, especially the green, the tape edging is a late 19th-century replacement, 17" h. x 13" diameter.
