PR OF EARLY 20TH C. CHEMICAL BOTTLES WITH ORIGINAL WOODEN SPRUNG CRATE Clear glass demijons with friction fit lids, designed for snug fit in the crates cushioned by sprung wooden battens at each corner of the interior. Stamped as "This patented 'Twoplex' Container manufactured by Fred C. White, Inc. New York, NY". 14 1/4" x 5 1/4" diam. bottles, wooden crates have wire latches, Railway Express labels. One crate is stencilled "Department of Health and Sanitation, State of Maine". 17 1/2" x 8" x 8" overall. Worn as seen from use, but still sturdy. These were also popular in the mining industry to transport nitroglycerin.
