Regency Scots Armorial Sterling Silver Hot Water Jug, hallmarked London, 1818-1819, by Alice and George Burrows, the spherical body and cylindrical neck exuberantly decorated with repousse thistles, fruit and acanthus scrolls centering a rococo cartouche, with "duck's beak" spout, hinged spout-flap, ivory-insulated crested handle and domed lid en suite, the latter with cast acanthus-scroll billet and thistle finial, engraved, on the cartouche, with the arms of Steuart of Auchlunkart, county Banff, h. 9", dia. 6-1/2", 36.20 t. oz. Provenance: The Houston, Texas estate of Mrs. George P. Kelley.
