KY SUGAR CHEST, MINIATURE SIDEBOARD
KY SUGAR CHEST, MINIATURE SIDEBOARD FORMKentucky sugar chest, miniature sideboard form, cherry primary with figured cherry drawer fronts, poplar and walnut secondary. Upper section of case with three shallow drawers, the center drawer flanked by two smaller candle drawers. Upper right candle drawer with interior sliding drawer. Lower drawer with faux dividers, all drawers dovetailed with cockbeading. Interior of lower drawer has been fitted as a humidor with a hinged lid opening to a copper lined interior. Ring turned legs ending with a spike foot. Inside case side marked with chalk, "W. Wright". 25 1/2" H x 23 1/4" W x 12 1/2" D. Circa 1825. Provenance: the estate of Bertha Cochran Wright, ex-Calumet Farm, Lexington, KY.
Condition:
Older refinish. left drawer support for lower drawer replaced, drawer supports for upper center drawer replaced, wear to drawer sides, copper fitting of humidor to lower drawer probably early 20th century, some minor breaks to cockbeaded edges of drawers.

STEPBACK CUPBOARD. Attributed to Sugarcreek Ohio mid 19th century poplar. Two-piece the upper section with two six-pane doors the interior with block-printed wallpaper and the lower section with two drawers over two doors and resting on cutout feet. Retains its original pulls and its original dark red stain with an alligatored surface. 85''h. 50.5''w. 19.5''d Latches on the upper doors are broken (the mechanism for one is present the other is not).
