The top is 9 7/16'' in diameter and the bottom is 10 1/16'' in diameter. some alligatoring. The ends of wrap around bands are stapled down under the red paint.

A Set of Six George III Sterling Silver Spoons and Sugar Tongs, Hester Bateman, London, ca. 1786 Spoons of plain design with crested handles depicting armorial emblem, back of handles hallmarked. Sugar tongs decorated in bright cut Adam's style, hallmarked with a lion passant and a maker's hallmark "H. B." in script. The spoons measure approx. 5"L, tongs are approx. 5-1/2"L.
