PAIR CHINESE MOON GODDESS FIGURES Pair of Chinese Moon Goddess figures, executed in terracotta with sancai glaze, each depicting the Moon Goddess standing with her right hand raised to hold the moon, her left leg is also raised and a three legged money toad sits at her feet eating fruit she offers. Both the goddess and the toad are said to bring good luck and prosperity. Approx. h. 33", dia. 12.5".

Provenance : From the corporate art collection of a Kansas City based Fortune 500 company, previously acquired from the Little Gallery.
Condition
Poor condition. There is a prominent water stain to the bottom right corner, two inches above the bottom of the image and encompassing the signature. Very small scrape to the paper in that area as well. Slight smudging to the top margin.

TWO CHINESE BLUE AND WHITE MOON FLASKS Two Chinese blue and white moon flasks, both having cylinder necks and flattened discoid bodies, the first with a jeweled garland at the neck flanked by ruyi scepter handles, the body decorated with figures in a garden, the underside with a blue, four character mark, the second having lotus scrollwork at the neck, with chi-chi handles, the body decorated with a courtier and his servants, having orange peel texture and no apparent marks.
