Victor Salmones (Mexican,
Victor Salmones (Mexican, 1937-1989) "Symmetry", 1981, number 5 of 10, a patinated bronze figure of a nude male, arched dramatically rearward and standing on a sphere, signed vertically on the base of the sphere "Salmones 5/10", presented on a rectangular light yellowish-green quartzite base, h. 13-1/4", w. 7-7/8", d. 5-7/8". Provenance: Private collection, Houston, Texas. Salmones was, at the time of his death in 1989, working on a life-size version of this model. It was never finished. New Orleans Auction Galleries would like to thank Mr. Travis Hansson of the Victor Salmones Galleries, Beverly Hills, California, for his generous assistance in the identification of this and the other Salmones sculptures in this sale.
