IONEL TALPAZAN OUTSIDER ART UFO SPACE SHIP SCULPTUREIonel Talpazan (Romanian-American, b. 1955) flying saucer on candlestick sculpture, mixed media including paint and plaster over wood, painted metal, and plastic. Inscribed signature to underside and dated 1991 (New York). 7" H x 5 1/2" diameter. Note: Ionel Talpazan was born in Romania and raised in a foster home. As a child, he allegedly experienced the presence of a UFO. In 1987, he escaped Romania by swimming the Danube River and eventually emigrated to the United States as a political refugee. He now lives and works in New York, where his UFO experience informs many of his sculptures and drawings.
Condition:
Some wear to metallic paint on candlestick shaft, overall very good condition.
