Hawthorne & Sheble ''Non Pareil'' (''No Equal'') H & S began in Philadelphia mid-90s as talking machine dealers and makers of accessories. Edison soon black-balled them for minor offenses but they enjoyed a long and fruitful collaboration with Columbia. Within a year or so H & S introduced a line of fine furniture incorporating a talking machine mechanism and record storage. The quality of this piece is evident.
