Condition
The hood with cracks, seam separation and one block off. Top blocks missing knops. One glass side panel loose. The Japanning deteriorated with craquelure at the front. Vestiges of a faded floral design on both sides. Seam separations, scattered cracks and nicks. Interior back with long vertical split with old repair, scattered holes where the clock was fixed to the wall. No pendulum, weights or winder.

Cambro / London," mid-18th century, with pointed gilt finials above an arched glazed door revealing a brass and pewter clock face with with foliate spandrels, Roman hour markers and Arabic minute markers, the matted center with date aperture and with subsidiary seconds ring, signed on a plaque in the center "D. Cambro / London" and with strike/silent lever above, the eight day five pillar movement with anchor escapement and strike on bell, the case decorated throughout with Chinoiserie vignettes on a faux tortoiseshell ground and with an arched door having an applied New York dealer's label for "Hennor's etc." the decoration refreshed, the works possibly associated, repairs, restorations. 96" H x 20" W x 10" D. Note: D. Cambro is recorded as a member of the Worshipful Company of Clockmakers, and several examples of his verge watches from the mid-18th century have come to market.
