VICTORIAN LACQUERED WOOD AND PEWTER TEA CADDY, CA. 19TH CENTURY 4 ½" x 8 ?" x 5 ½" Of octagonal form wood, paper-mache tea caddy with dome hinged lid, minuted hand painted with pavilions with figures on the top, with dragons chasing Pearl of Wisdom border; multi shapes with figural and pavilions motifs on the sides, all on black lacquer background with gilt highlights. Two pewter compartments with stoppers and lids, hand chased with figural and floral-geometrical designs.
