DOX THRASH (american 1893-1965) BOWL OF FLOWERS Signed 'D. THRASH' bottom right, watercolor heightened with pastel on paper 18 7/8 x 23 15/16 in. (47.9 x 60.8cm) provenance: Estate of Alan S. Kushner, Wyndmoor, Pennsylvania. ,000-5,000 Watercolor heightened with pastel. Framed. Sheet is unevenly cut, so width and length are at some variance. Also on verso, yellowed tape across most of top edge of sheet, most of one edge of sheet, and tape remnants and some associated abrasion of sheet along other edge and bottom. Along parts of bottom and left outer edges of shee, there are some breaks, losses to sheet, and tiny tears to sheet. An approximate 3/4 x 3/8 in. area of sheet is gone at upper left outer corner. The outer top left edges of sheet are unpainted, by artist''s design. Across top outer edge of front of sheet, there are 2 large (removable) tape pieces which help to hold sheet to undermat. There is a pinhead size hole in sheet at upper right. There is some inherent rippling of sheet due to the watercolor. Fresh, strong colors.
