MODERNIST OIL OF A MOUNTAIN CHAPEL,
MODERNIST OIL OF A MOUNTAIN CHAPEL, PRE-WWIIA lovely modern landscape of a white chapel situated in front of mountains, perhaps Italian school, circa first half 20th century. There is a faint unidentified signature in the bottom right corner, which bears a similarity to the signature of Gerardo Dottori but for the first letter more closely resembling a "P" than a "D."
The canvas measures 8" x 10", and is housed in a softwood frame that measures 12 1/4" x 14 1/4".
Condition
The surface of the paint layer shows skinning, which gives the painting an aged appearance. Observation under blacklight revealed no touch-ups. There is scuffing and wear to the wooden frame.
