2 SOUTHERN STONEWARE POTTERY ITEMS, INCL. MINIATURE WHI...1st item: Flat sided miniature whiskey jug advertising Ames Buggy and Automobiles of Kentucky, two-tone glaze, with blue stenciled letters on front: "TAKE A SMILE WITH AMES OF OWENSBORO", and en verso: "MFR. of PLEASURE VEHICLES / BRED IN OLD KENTUCKY". 2 7/8" H. Note: Ames was a buggy manufacturer established circa 1898 in Owensboro. From 1910 to 1925 the company manufactured automobiles including a beetle-backed "gentleman's roadster" and a five-passenger tourer, and also produced replacement bodies for the Ford Model T. Green River Whiskey was used to fill these jugs, which were given out for promotional purposes by Ames. 2nd item: Southern alkaline glazed stoneware jug, South Carolina or Georgia, ovoid form with dark olive glaze. 6 1/4" H. Third quarter of the 19th century.

Condition:
1st item: Glued breaks to rim and handle area, rim with chips. Hairlines emanating from the rim. 2nd item: Minor glaze exfoliated to the rim, a few scattered shallow chips to the base.

Harlow Ames mustered into Co. D 23rd New York Infantry on May 6 1861 and died of disease March 24 1863 at the regimental hospital. Condition: Slight fading of image.

Round plaque with bas relief profile portrait of US Senator Henderson (1826-1913) with his name and ''MCMXII'' over his head. 16''d. Henderson served in the Missouri House of Representatives and the US Senate. He is best known for co-authoring the 13th Amendment to the Constitution which abolished slavery.

Record of Hillsborough County Florida 3rd Seminole Indian War. Partially printed historical doc signed by Justice of the PeaceJoseph Howell and naming Captain Leroy G. Lesley as his commanding officer, stationed at Fort Meade. A. J. Hendry was one of approx. 700 volunteers from Hernando, Hillsborough, and Manatee counties mustered to help quell the recurrence of hostilities created by Indian Relocation. Verso having the seal for Hillsborough County, FL., with a handwritten statement from Clerk of the Circuit Court, J.M. Hayman, a Reverend who established the First Baptist Church of Tampa. As cattle farmers the pioneer Hendry clan helped establish Fort Myers, Hendry County, areas near Tampa on the Alafia River, and areas near Fort Meade east of the Peace River. GEORGE AMES ALDRICH (1872-1941) OIL ON CANVASGeorge Ames Aldrich (American, 1872-1941) Untitled (Stream scene) Oil on canvas 25" x 30" A stream scene executed in oils in the pallette of morning light, signed to the bottom left. In a gilt wood frame that measures 36" x 41". Though George Ames Aldrich was born in Massachusetts and studied in France, he is most closely associated with the American Midwest, particularly Chicago, Illinois and South Bend, Indiana. He studied under a number of significant artists, including William Merritt Chase, John Twachtman, and James McNeill Whistler. He is best known for his scenes of villages and streams.
Condition
Viewed under blacklight without any evidence of touch-up or in-painting. There is some dry cracking to the paint layer in the white areas of the stream and sky, and the canvas is very gently buckled in the top left. Some losses to the frame.
