TWO CHINESE IMARI STYLE PLATES,KANGXI PERIOD Two Chinese Imari style plated, dating from the Kangxi period (1661-1722). Each plate in shades of blue and orange over a white background One plate bottom features scrolling blue and orange flowers, the cheek with four panels with flowers and insects, and the rim A sticker with "Alex Cooper" on the base on one. Outside of this plate is white glaze only. Other plate similar but no design in cheek area but underside has four small flower designs.

- Unusual Japanese Imari Porcelain
Unusual Japanese Imari Porcelain "Armorial" Plate, Meiji Period (1868-1912), decorated in underglaze blue, iron red and gilding with a central armorial device with a crown, necklace and pendant badge surrounded by pomegranates, gourds and Buddha's hand citrons, the outer border with four reserve panels on a comma brocade ground, the arms those of Louis XV of France encircled by the orders of Saint-Esprit and Saint-Michel, dia. 11-1/2". The design of this unusual plate is based on an original Kangxi service commissioned by Philippe d'Orleans, regent for Louis XV. He ordered two services, one with his own arms and the other with the arms of his grand-nephew, King Louis XV. In the 19th century Edme Samson produced copies of the famous service and, in turn, the Arita workshops soon made copies of these for export.
