Thomas Bruno (American, b. 1960;
Thomas Bruno (American, b. 1960; Active Louisiana), Sir Thomas More (1478-1535), a good, large patinated bronze bust, the figure depicted wearing a velvet hat and fur mantle, presented on a custom rectangular mahogany base with an engraved brass title plaque, h. 28", w. 21", d. 14". This is one of two examples cast for the Loyola University Law Library, New Orleans, Louisiana; the other example remaining in the collection of the University. See Lot 1089, which is apparently the modello for this bust.

THOMASTON, ME-BUILT "JOSEPH B. THOMAS" SHIP PAPERS Folder containing Original Documents Relating to San Francisco, Baltimore and Liverpool Voyages in 1884, under the command of Captain William J. Lermond; including crew lists, customs documents, receipts and bills of lading; in a small ship paper portfolio marked "R.L. Gillchrest & Co., Ship Brokers, 30, Chapel Street, Liverpool", 11" x 4 3/4" x 1". Exterior toned, with creases and tears; interior documents with creases and edge tears.
The "Joseph B. Thomas" was a 234-foot three-mast merchant schooner launched from the Samuel Watts boatyard in Thomaston, ME on October 25 1881. Captain Lermond served as commander of this ship from 1884-1899. In 1908, she was sold to a California shipping company, and in 1910 she was registered as a towing barge in New York. On October 15, 1913, during a voyage from Philadelphia to Boston with a cargo of coal, she foundered off Cape Cod.
