VELVET TOBACCO & MODEL SMOKING TOBACCO SIGNS, 2Two (2) smoking tobacco advertising signs. 1st item - Large Velvet tobacco porcelain sign, "The Smoothest Smoking Tobacco 10 cents" below a red container of Velvet tobacco. 29"W x 28"H. Early 20th century. 2nd item - Painted tin Model tobacco sign, "Did you say 10 cents? Model Smoking Tobacco". An older man in a white mustache smoking a pipe is on the right edge. 34"W x 11 3/8"H. Early 20th century. Provenance - Yates estate, Greeneville, Tennessee.
Condition:
1st item - losses around mounting holes near the edges of sign. Minimal loss to painted letters or graphics of tobacco container. Oxidation to areas verso. 2nd item - overall very good condition with one rust spot to outer edge of lower mounting hole on edge. Some rust/oxidation verso.

Reynolds Tobacco Co., near mint and appears to be full of tobacco (4 _î x 3î) and Tuxedo tobacco pocket tin, The American Tobacco Co., very good (4 _î x 3î).
