19TH C. VIEW OF BUILDINGS AT PEAK OF MOUNT WASHINGTON, 1881 A Rare Early unsigned Folk Art View of the Buildings at the Summit of Mt. Washington, the typical winds represented by the clothing and hats of the two small girls between the two buildings with panoramic view of the White Mountains behind, one of which (on the right) is an early view of the US Weather Station with metering devices on the roof, erected circa 1880. Pencil inscription verso under original backing boards reads "US Signal Station, Summit of Mt Washington". In remnants of reticulated gold narrow frame, matted and glazed, OS: 14" x 19", SS: 7 1/4" x 15", good condition, frame poor.

NEW YORK FROM HEIGHTS NEAR BROOKLYN AFTER WILLIAM GUY WALL (IRELAND/NEW YORK 1792-AFTER 1864). Oil on canvas unsigned. Landscape with view of Manhattan. Interesting and detailed scene with two gentlemen in the foreground ship in harbor with American flag colonial buildings with church spires and a windmill. 19''h. 27''w. in a gilt frame 24 3/4''h. 32 3/4''w. Ex Jerome Sackheim (California) sold at Garth's April 10 and 11 1981 auction. This view is likely based on John Hill's 1823 aquatint which was based on Wall's painting. Lined several repairs (2 on right 1 lower-center at the figures 1 left at the boat with the US flat more in the sky) some inpainting needs cleaned.

Baker, handcolored copper engravings, published in 1832, including: "Battle of Bunker's Hill, (June 17th, 1775.)", marked "To the Enlightened and Patriotic Citizens of the United States, this plate respectfully inscribed by their Obedient Servant, J. Baker", along with numbered key identifying individuals; PLUS "Battle of Lexington, April 19, 1775", published by Humphrey & Phelps, New York, also with numbered key. The two are housed in their original lemon gold frames, similar but not identical, under old rippled glass. OS: 19 1/2" x 23 1/2", SS: 14 1/2" x 18 1/2", toned, stained, old repaired tears at bottom of Bunker's Hill. Well worth restoring.
