the first a circular iron example, decorated in gold and bronze showing a rabbit underneath the moon, with chiselled clouds and waves, the rim mounted with bronze; the second an open worked iron example decorated with numerous monkeys; the third a gilt decorated shakudo example with opened worked decoration depicting an eagle tied to its perch, signed ???????; the fourth of mokko form, silvered metal nanako, inlaid with shakodu and gilt, showing birds and rockery, signed ???.
Average length 8 1/2 in., 21.5 cm.

Two Japanese tsuba 19th century the first oval of sentoku with gold overlay cast and pierced with scholars amid gnarled trees 2.75in. and a shibuichi and gilt decorated tsuba cast in relief with a phoenix and foliage 2.25in. Estimate ?150-200 Sentoku tsuba has small casting cracks around blade aperture general tiny dents and scratches around edge. Shibuichi tsuba has tiny nicks and dents.
