CONDITION The bust appears in good original condition with no apparent issues visible to the naked eye. Inspection under UV shows restoration and overpainting to the edges of the bonnet. N.B.   CHRISTOPH BOLLINGER / TURNING POINT (1969 KINETIC SCULPTURE)Christoph Böllinger (German, b. 1939) Turning Point , 1969 Sheet copper, copper rods, and clock components 38" x 40" x 30" as arranged (without pedestal) A motorized mobile with seven orbiting pairs of nearly weightless sheet copper forms welded to a system of copper rods and clock gears, all operated by a Synchron electric clock motor. Signed and dated to the underside of one of the gears. Presented atop an oak display pedestal that measures 37" x 22" x 22". Provenance : From the collection of a Fortune 500 company, acquired from the Alwin Gallery (London) in 1969. Alternate spelling : Christoph Boellinger Condition The motor operates, but the kinetic element is not functional without some adjustment/ repair (the gears don't seem to be properly aligned). Some general aged patina across the copper elements.
