Provenance: The artist, 1944; Galerie St. Etienne, New York; Clare J. Hoffman, Toledo, Ohio; Galerie St. Etienne, New York, 1998; The Collection of a Boston Family. Exhibitions: - Grandma Moses: Memorial Exhibition, Galerie St. Etienne, New York, 1962. - The Home Country of Grandma Moses: Twenty of Her Best Paintings of Local Areas and Activities, Bennington Museum, Bennington, Vermont, 1963. - The Grandma Moses Gallery, Bennington Museum, Bennington, Vermont, 1968-72 - Art and Life of Grandma Moses, The Gallery of Modern Art at Columbus Circle, New York, 1969. Condition: A few small areas of scuffing/surface abrasion in the sky. Otherwise good condition. The work is a strong, true white, not as warm in tone as it appears in the frame image.Overall good condition, though could do with a surface cleaning: a few small areas of scuffing/surface abrasion in sky, and one smudge in snow below pine tree to left of barn. Work does not appear as dingy to the eye as it does in the framed photograph - color of other images is more true.
