[Marion Huse (1896-1967) was founder operator and head instructor of a successful art school in Springfield Massachusetts from 1925-1940 and a regional director of the state's W.P.A. Federal Art Project. In the early 1930's Huse acquired a country studio in the small Vermont village of Pownal. She made an excursion to New Mexico in the fall of 1937. In late 1946 she joined her husband stationed with the Army Medical Corps in Europe immediately following World War II.
