ABRAHAM LINCOLN PORTRAIT PIN WITHIN BRASS BADGE Late 19th - early 20th century, the gilt brass mount with mottos "UNITED WE STAND DIVIDED WE FALL" and "IN UNION THERE IS STRENGTH" within a circle, while the top panel reads "8 HOURS" referencing Lincoln's oft misquoted statement about how he would prepare for cutting down a tree if he had "8 Hours" in which to complete the task. This badge, likely for wearing at a convention, would have been attached to a hanger or to a ribbon with a hanger.
