Note: This firearm was purchased by our consignor in 1976 at an estate sale. At that time, it was said to have been brought back from the Texas War of Independence by a member of the Dickinson family of Chattanooga, Tennessee. Accompanying paperwork discusses the overall importance of this type of firearm in nineteenth century wars.

Note: This is one of 300 muskets delivered on May 29, 1837 which was inspected by N.W. Patch and approved by Henry Knox Craig.
