A trimmed view of an awkward looking private with wispy chin beard wearing regulation federal sack coat and leather equipment. He holds a .58 cal. Springfield rifle with bayonet. Accompanying the carte is a folded piece of wrapping paper with an incorrect identification in modern pen stating that the photo is Confederate soldier ?James Moody of Sumner County? who served in the 2nd Tennessee. The subject is not Confederate and the provenance is plainly erroneous. Condition: Albumen shows mottling with both sides of worn mount severely trimmed G.
